​​​​Nathans Ark Mobile Veterinarian was formed 3 years ago by Dr. Carol Tobias.

The need and desire for in home care was obvious and welcomed.  Dr. Tobias is a 1998 UGA Veterinary College graduate.  Dr. Tobias treats domestic pets such as dogs and cats but also treats exotic pets, urban chickens, and Koi/fish.  Dr. Tobias provides full service veterinary care in the comfort of your  home.  If a procedure needs to be done in a veterinary facility, Dr. Tobias will see clients at Lavista Animal Hospital facility.  In home euthanasia is also offered when that time comes.  

Dr. Tobias has a BA in Biology from GSU and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UGA. She graduated in 1998.  She completed additional electives and summer courses in exotic/aquatic animal medicine from Sea World Orlando, Texas A&M, and LSU.  Dr. Tobias practiced in south Florida for 3 years which enhanced her exotic animal experience.  When she came back to Atlanta in 2001 she practiced in a mixed practice with dogs, cats and exotics.  She also volunteered at The Georgia Aquarium in the veterinary department and quarantine for 3 years.  Dr. Tobias currently performs contract veterinary work for the Institute for Marine Mammal Medicine in Gulfport Mississippi.  She works with sea turtles and dolphins.  In 2009 she established her mobile practice which serves all the greater Atlanta area. She treats domestic as well as exotic species. 

Now for the non-domestic species in-home care is especially beneficial.  Dr. Tobias specializes in exotic pets/fish medicine.  Birds and small mammals stress easily.  It is best to not move them when  they are ill.  Koi ponds/fish can be diagnosed and treated on site.
